The Subbies were hijacked by Splendor in the Grass with both teams decimated by the music festival and both going down. The eary game at Jeeps were all wins putting pressure on the Premiers to winn too. And the responded in spades
The game started with 2 penalties to Gold Coast when a well timed pass to Donovan Slade enabled him to slice through a surprised Gold Coast to score under the posts. 7-6
A great run down the side line past the Glue Factory by Mat Garland saw him go over and convert his own try. 14-6. Shortly after Joao Caldeira-Santos got the ball over with the help of the rest of the forwards. 19-6. Gold Coast pressed the Jeeps line right up to half time but tenacious defence held them out.
A great kick to start the second half saw the forwards storm the line for about 5 minutes before Josh Logan darted over for the bonus point try 26-6. A few minutes later he did it again. 33-6
Sam Satui made it 6 tries as the Gold CoastBreakers looked well and truely broken 38-6. With 2 Gold Coast players in the bin Captain Steve Miller scored the 7th in another forwards rush. 45-6. A great clearing kick by Josh Logan after 10 minutes of Gold Coast pressing the Jeeps line took us back to the right end of the field and Josh finished the move with his third try. 52-6. A late consulation try to the Coast saw the final score 52-13. Bring on Wests!!
